Iranian Hackers target US Military Officials with google account hacks
According to IBM researchers, a leak from a suspected Iranian hacker disclosed just how it explores the American official’s (US military personnel) online lives, by taking control of their Google accounts. The same hackers have presumably been linked with attacks on President Trump’s campaign staff. A report by IBM shared with Forbes.
The 40 gigabytes of data was discovered in may by IBM X-Force IRIS (a cyber intelligence unit within IBM). According to Forbes.
According to a report, a simple misconfiguration of a server had left the data unfolded related to US military officials to anyone who could find the relevant web address. The most disclosed information came in the form of training videos in which hackers dubbed ITG18(referred to as a charming kitten), had breached the Google accounts of US Navy officials.

Back in February, the ClearSky research team (ClearSky a cybersecurity firm) have disclosed a widespread Iranian hacking campaign known as “Fox Kitten Campaign” in which attackers succeeded in gaining access to the networks of many companies from IT, Telecommunication, oil and gas, aviation, government, and security sector around the world.
